About Us

Nick started Rockeater Truck Services 20 years ago with a single truck. After 15 years working at California Garden Centre in Wellington he saw a gap in the market for a reliable plant carrier service throughout the country, and thought he could really make use of his knowledge of caring for plants and trees and his love for vehicles. Nick enjoyed being on the road and meeting clients, whether that was at the nurseries, the garden centers or delivering plant freight on site to landscapers. His reputation as a reliable and skilled plant and tree carrier quickly grew and it wasn’t long until the fleet of one grew to a fleet of 5. Fast forward 20 years and Rockeater Truck Services is still going strong, with the same personable service Rockeater began with.

Ange joined Nick in the office carrying out all the day to day office and administration, and making sure things keep ticking over in the background.

When kids came along, Nick decided he wanted to be home more so he hung up his keys and jumped into the role of running the freight dispatch and bookings, which allows him to still have that much enjoyed contact with the clients. That said, he jumps at the chance to get back into a truck when needed, and catch up with all the regulars.

Both Ange and Nick really enjoy the personal day to day contact they have with their clients and being able to help them get their plants where they need to go.

They have 3 children, Noah, Zara and Emma.
